A Deeper Well – Book Review

We have had the opportunity to read the pre-release novel “A Deeper Well” by author Jill Eileen Smith.

It is a story about the Samaritan woman at the well that Jesus met as she came to the well in the heat of the day in order to avoid the ire of the people of the town (see in John 4). There, she finds someone who knows her better than she knows herself, one who offers her living water, forgiveness, restoration and an everlasting love.

Jill Eileen Smith takes this unnamed biblical character and gives her a name. Takes her pain and fleshes it out and gives her some “what if” looks at her life before the messiah brought a new life to her at that well.

This is an interesting story. I liked how she fleshed out the characters and built a story around the story of this woman who we don’t really know much about.

It makes us think about what all took place in her life to bring her to the lonely place at the well.

I think that you will enjoy it like we did.

Find it here on Amazon  Cover of the book A deeper Well by Jill Eileen Smith It shows a beautiful woman with fabric head covering. she has rich chocolate brown eyes and brown hair. Below her picture is a picture of a well in the desert with the sun low in the sky to show it is the end of the day. The sky is tinted orange and the sun is bright. There is a stacked rock wall that runs to the left of the well and then dissapears as the picture ends.
