Directions for delicious penne pasta.

Supplies:

Ingredients For The Sauce:

1-2 Tbsp of good-quality olive oil

4-5 cloves of fresh garlic instead of using a press I prefer to chop my garlic for this sauce

A Large 29 oz. can of Hunt’s Tomato Sauce

1 Tbsp of Dry Parsley

1/4 cup or so of Grated Parmesan and Romano Cheese Do not use the shake on cheese but the real stuff. You will thank me.

Instructions For Sauce:

First, you will chop your garlic and set it aside.

Put a tablespoon or so of good olive oil in your saucepan and turn it comparatively low.

Add to these 4 – 5 cloves of chopped garlic. Cook slowly while stirring until just fragrant and golden but not brown. If you overcook the garlic it will give your sauce a sharp taste that will ruin your sauce and you will have to discard and do it again.

Next, add a can of tomato sauce

Stir well.

Finally, add your grated Romano cheese together with some Parmesan cheese to your pizza sauce and season with parsley flakes.

Time To Simmer

Cover and simmer the pizza sauce for at least 30 minutes as a result it will allow all of the flavors mingle as mom would always say and it will thicken your pasta sauce to perfection the longer that you simmer. Remember simmering is a low and slow process. You do not want to get in a hurry and burn your sauce.

Follow the recipe for homemade pasta from scratch.  For this recipe, you will need an electric pasta maker machine that has the disks for cutting penne pasta or the pasta attachment for your Kitchen Aid Mixer with the penne pasta type of pasta.  If you are using a pasta machine you may need to use the recipe that comes with it to make sure that your pasta dough perfectly extrudes out of your machine and does not get stuck inside the machine and make a huge mess for you to clean up. The dough for the pasta machine looks more dry than your average dough making it able to pass through the die cutter perfectly.

If you don’t have a pasta machine or kitchen aid you can purchase a box of your favorite pasta.  Cook pasta according to package, strain, and place in a casserole dish.

Preheat your oven to 350 F. Now to prepare it for baking your baked penne pasta dish.

When your sauce is done you will ladle the penne pasta with your delicious sauce, and then sprinkle it with cheese.  Add a bit of extra romano and parmesan cheese to the top. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Serve hot with parmesan cheese
