Oatmeal recipe | wooden bowl with hot oatmeal, walnuts and cream

Cottage Oatmeal Recipe

Winter fills me with warm memories and hot oatmeal is such a big part of it. Brianna and Cheyenne would be out playing and laughing and come rushing into the house with winter’s chill still on their rosy cheeks. Off would pop hats and gloves to be hung by the fire to thaw. Boots in a pile by the door. Such lively chatter would ensue of all of their great adventures. Of sledding down hills and snowball fights and fun with friends and who crashed or fell in the snow.  Such are the things of childhood.

They would rush to the kitchen and ooooooh and ahhhhh over the delicious smells. Mom and I would give great big hugs followed by delicious steaming bowls of our delicious cottage oatmeal. The girls would take them and trot over to the fireplace where they would sit and thaw out while eating their delicious breakfast treat.
