Cranberry Sauce

Spread the love
We love this cranberry sauce recipe so much.  It is a tradition here at the cottage when the apple and pear orchard is heavy with fruit to whip out this recipe and start making our cranberry sauce. It uses organic sugar (but you can use plain sugar if that is what you have), tart cranberries, and normally bits of chopped apples or pears. Here is the recipe just on its own. Let us know what you think.
We like to can this to have on hand all year so we will walk you through that but if you just want to serve it to your family that is fine too. Just let this cool and serve.

Is Canned Cranberry Sauce Healthy?

Why Do We Eat Cranberries With Turkey At Thanksgiving?

According to the University of Maine Native Americans would include cranberries in their diet. Due to the importance of cranberries in the 1500’s it is believed that cranberries would have been a part of the first Thanksgiving meal.
