Dare To Dream His Dreams

Posted on February 5, 2018May 30, 2019 by Rosevine Cottage Girls
Spread the love

I’m a dreamer. Always have been always will be. I love to escape – no that’s the wrong word, I love to fall into them, be swallowed whole and explore the world an author has dreamed up. A thousand adventures all from my bookshelves. I love to dream- Dream big. In bright colors.

Something I’ve learned over the years is there is a difference between fairy tale daydreaming and life dreaming. We all have dreams of what we want to do and who we want to be, they shape us. They make us who we are. Those dreams, those ones close to our hearts -to make a difference, to change the world, the ones He just won’t let you forget about. The ones that scare the living daylights out of you because all you can think of is “What if I fail?” Those ones that require a leap of faith- Those are the ones you have to chase.

… Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. Micah 7:8

Not every dream is the one He has given you, we have to learn to hold on to what He wants for us and let the others go. Take your dreams and lay them at His feet, ask Him I know it’s hard, it seems crazy, you’ve wanted it your whole life, dreamed about it, almost tasted it- but if it isn’t His will it will never be enough, a pretty wrapping but hollow inside. Trust Him.

Count the cost. Don’t just rush forward, wait for Him. Count the cost, and make sure you can afford it. Draw close to Him and let Him whisper to your heart. Trust Him through the “What if’s”, trust Him through “Might Fails”, Trust Him when you stumble, when you’re tired – when your arms ache and you question why you ever embarked on this journey in the first place. Trust Him when he urges you to walk away from things you’ve longed for, and when He urges you toward scary things that require faith- and when you reach the end of your road and feel you can’t go any further look back and see how far you’ve come.

Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:24

Look back and see your history- did you ever walk it alone? All of the dark places, all of the bright ones were you ever alone? Did He leave you for one millisecond? Chase those dreams He’s given you, run after them and keep chasing them. Even if you don’t see the big picture now- He does. You may feel like one tiny tile in a mosaic but He sees the whole design.
