This Christmas roast is so delicious and so easy to make! It’s definitely a crowd-pleaser, and you are going to love it. It’s perfect for your Christmas meal or any other. It is tender, juicy, and oh so good- have I said that before? But seriously this is a wonderful way to make a roast! We included a recipe for a delicious gravy to make with the juices of the roast that you will just love. If you want to make mashed potatoes instead of these roasted potatoes you can easily omit the potatoes in the pot.

Traditional Meats served at Christmas are turkey, roast or prime rib, and goose.  The choice is really personal. You can go with poultry, beef, or other meats.

What Is A Traditional Christmas Roast?

It is a prime rib or other roast fixed with potatoes and other vegetables. 

What Goes With Roast Beef For Christmas Dinner?

You can fix potatoes or rice and some delicious tender vegetables alongside your roast. Soft dinner rolls and butter would taste fantastic also. Pair it with your favorite pie like apple, pumpkin, or cherry too for dessert.

Can I Make This Gluten-Free?

Yes, you can use a Gluten-Free Flour in place of the regular all-purpose flour. 

What you will need:

  • Roaster pan 
  • Whisk
  • Meat forks to put on a platter
  • Sharp meat knife or electric knife

Christmas Roast Recipe

Ingredients:

3 – 5 pound Chuck Roast
1 container of beef, chicken or use our bone broth recipe
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
Couple of Tablespoons of All-purpose Flour
2 Tbsp Avocado Oil
1 tsp Coconut Amino
Mini Carrots
Chopped Potatoes (1 per person)


Directions:

  • Sprinkle roast with flour salt and pepper, place oil in a pan and heat over medium heat, brown meat on both sides, and then re-season with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder.
  • Place in a roaster pan or dutch oven.
  • Roughly chop potatoes and carrots and sprinkle around the roast.
  • Pour in enough broth to go up to the halfway point on your roast.
  • Bake at 250 for 3 hours or until done to the way you like it
  • We like to slice with an electric knife to make the roast pretty.

Do you want gravy with your Christmas roast? 

For Gravy:

Ingredients:

  • 6 Tbsp of butter
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 3-4 cups of broth from your roast

Directions:

In a skillet melt your butter. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk 1 minute to mix in completely and brown the butter.

Add the broth and whisk it well until it is thickened. Simmer for about 2 minutes.  Serve immediately.
