Easy Homemade Egg Nog

This egg nog recipe is so simple to make and it uses healthy ingredients too.  Egg nog is part of the holiday tradition for both Christmas and New Years’ celebrations. Egg nog has been enjoyed for generation after generation. It is believed to go back to Europe in the 1300s where monks would enjoy a cup of posset that was an egg, milk, and ale drink. They also would drink one that had figs, milk, and eggs.
Those in Germany, the Netherlands, and Puerto Rico have their own version of egg nog as well. Sylabub is a European drink that was popular in the 1600s to 1900s which used a wine or sack in sweet cream to curdle the cream and make a frothy drink for special occasions.
Today you can buy a container of egg nog at most grocery stores during the holiday but they are also full of other ingredients that you may not want in your drink. So enjoy the delicious flavors of the season with your own egg nog recipe and skip all of the sugar, chemicals, and other not-so-nice ingredients!
