What Is The Symbolism Of Italian Easter Bread?

Traditional Easter bread has a lot of significance, the rising of the dough reflects the story of Christ rising from his tomb. The bread is then divided into three pieces that represent the Trinity. Then the braid is formed into a simple wreath to represent the crown of thorns place on Jesus’s head. The bread is then baked with eggs which symbolize rebirth and resurrection. If you aren’t familiar with the Easter story you can read about it here.
