Egypt’s Sister Book Review

We were  sent Egypt’s Sister written by author Angela Hunt by the publishers for an honest review of the book. Book:

What Egypt’s Sister Is About

This book takes place fifty years before the birth of Jesus and is about Cleopatra and her faithful childhood companion Chava. Their childhood friendship is simple but can they navigate adulthood and Cleopatra becoming queen with the same ease even when Chava finds herself sold into slavery?  How do you trust God when your world falls apart?

What We Thought About Egypt’s Sister

This Egypt’s Sister made me laugh, cry and ride the roller coaster of emotion.  The sweet innocence of young girls and the betrayal of a precious friend, anger, bitterness, and forgiveness and the thread of the names, the very character of God to remind the main character and even us as the silent partner walking through the streets of Egypt and Rome that even when we, in our frail flesh and finite mind cannot see God’s hand in our lives.  In our turmoil and when things seem to be going horribly wrong, He is there.

I found this book precious.

I am sad as I finished it because the character has somehow become a friend and I hate to see her go.

My recommendation to you is to read this book, walk the dusty ancient streets with Chava and be carried away into the past with a dear friend.
