Hoppin’ John Recipe

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner so we thought we would show you how to make a traditional New Year’s Eve dish. Loaded with black-eyed peas and delicious Cajun flavors this is sure to be a hit and it is so easy to make! It is served with simmered collard greens and cornbread.

Ingredients For Hoppin’ John:

2 cups broth
4 cans drained black-eyed peas
2 large chopped onion
2 diced tomatoes
2 cans green chilies
4 diced carrots
4 stalks of diced celery
1 package of spicy sausage
4 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (or to taste)

 

Directions For Hoppin’ John:

Add all of the ingredients to a slow cooker, cook on low for 8 hours or until done.
