The Best Jalapeno Cheese Hamburger Buns

Jalapeno Cheese Hamburger Buns

These jalapeno cheese hamburger buns are so good. They are soft and add some zing to your burger. We served them at a horse competition and they were a huge hit with the cowgirls topped with a juicy beef patty, some pepper jack cheese, jalapeno poppers, and their favorite toppings. So delicious!!

Does Jalapeno Cheese Bread Have To Be Refrigerated?

Jalapeno Cheese hamburger buns should not be refrigerated. Refrigerating bread makes the bread dry out and taste stale so the best way to store them is after they cool put them in a sealed zipper bag or Tupperware until you are ready to use them.

Jalapeno Cheese Hamburger Buns Recipe

3/4 Tbsp Organic Raw Sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil (melted)
1 1/4 Teaspoons Celtic Sea Salt
3 Cups Organic Flour
2 Teaspoons Dry Yeast

Jalapeno Cheese Hamburger Buns The Bread Machine Way:

Put water, sugar, and oil in the bread machine. Then add flour, salt, and yeast. Set the bread machine  “dough” so you can make them into buns and not bread loaf shape.

Dice up several Jalapenos and put them in your dough.
Add in 1/2 cup of your favorite cheese.
You Can make just round pieces of dough or here make a knot out of the dough.   After you shape it into the desired shape leave it to rise in a warm draft-free place until it looks like it has doubled in size. I like to put a flour sack towel over it and set it in the kitchen under my under the cabinet lights. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

Jalapeno Cheese Hamburger Buns

Making The Loaf By Hand

    • 1 1/8 Cup Water
    • 3/4 Tbsp Organic Raw Sugar
    • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil  (melted)
    • 1 1/4 Teaspoons Celtic Sea Salt
    • 3 Cups Organic Flour
    • 2 Teaspoons Dry Yeast
    • Chopped canned jalapeno peppers (we used what would probably be 2 peppers but do this to your taste)
    • Red Pepper flakes approx 1/2 tsp or to taste
    • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (we used organic cheddar)
    • Sesame Seeds if desired

Put warm water sugar into your mixer.  Sprinkle the yeast on the water and let sit until the yeast poofs on top.

Add sugar, flour, salt, red pepper flakes, and ginger. Mix on Low with a bread hook. Before it is completely mixed add in diced jalapenos and cheese.  Remove from mixer and place plastic wrap on top of the bowl and let it rise until doubled in size in a warm but not hot spot. When you see that it has doubled in size then remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle flour on a clean countertop.  Remove the dough to the counter.  Make 7-8 dough balls that are the same size. If desired sprinkle them with sesame seeds and then place them on an oiled cookie sheet and cover with a light cloth like a flour sack towel that is clean and lint-free. Place the cookie sheet with your hamburger buns and set them in a warm and draft-free place to rise.

    Preheat oven to 350 F

When the buns have finished rising place them in a preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until golden and cooked throughout.

With a metal or silicone spatula remove the hamburger buns to a wire rack to cool so the bottom of them will not get wet on the bottom.
