Living Room Reveal

Posted on May 26, 2016May 31, 2019 by Rosevine Cottage Girls
Spread the love

Welcome to the Cottage living room! We’re going for and ocean/lake country feel around here. Instilling both of the things we love with a mix of shabby chic, and French.

The table we picked up at a yard sale to refinish and sell… we ended up falling in love with it and kept it. The chairs are mismatched finds from yards sales. We recovered the cushions on the brown and white chairs with canvas and a French label. The end chairs we found at a local Ross.

The couches are from Ikea. We added a collection of throw pillows, the green ones and cream ruffled ones are from Ross. The three square one are from Hobby Lobby. The two on the love seat we recovered with canvass and muslin. The throw blanket tossed over the arm is a yard sale find.

We have block out curtains on the end and thin sheer lace in the middle to let in filtered light.

The shells in the box we collected on a trip to Huntington Beach, the box we found at Ross a view years ago. We filled the trifle dish we filled with larger shells and a candle. On either side we filled half a gallon Mason Jars with sand and small tea candles.

This is the serving dish we bought at Sam’s Club for our Bonfire Party. We filled it with a few birds nests and shells. We added a cute red bucket, dried rose beds, small white milk-glass pitcher and a candle.

We repurposed this table from an auction, it was originally black but we chalk painted it white and sanded it off in a few places so the black showed through. We added some shells to decorate, a half gallon jar like on the coffee table, and rolled throw-blankets. The sea squirt lamp we found at Goodwill.

The mirror above our fire place is yet another yard sale find we did a makeover on. The Candle sticks on either side of the fireplace are from Mrs. & Mrs. Cottage’s wedding.

We found this cute drift wood garland at Ross.

The bookshelf is another auction find. The flag displayed in the case is Grandpa’s service flag.

This chair is a family heirloom, it was originally one of my aunts, it then got passed to another aunt on her death, and then on to a cousin who decided she didn’t have room for it, then on to us. We made a canvas slipcover to cover the original upholstery so it would match the house and draped this lace shall from Cracker Barrel over the back.

This TV. consul traveled with us on our move from California to Tennessee seventeen years ago. On the shelves beside the main section are a display of family photos, shells, a dolphin sculpture and a sail boat. Above we placed a large jar filled with blown eggs (all home grown -wink-), a small family photo and a sea gull sculpture.

We picked up this adorable basket at Hobby Lobby (seriously we love this store! They have the greatest stuff!) and filled it with shells. Can you tell we love the beach?

We found this sail boat at Burkes Outlet (another one of our favorite stores!), we paired it with a cross from a bouquet from my aunt and uncle) and a pretty shell.

The light house we found a Goodwill, we paired it with cute blue bird salt and pepper shakers (they are too cute not to display!) and two bowls we made on a girls night out ceramic class last year. We placed a couple shells in one and a handmade candle in the other.

The Mrs. & Mrs. frame is from Kirkland’s.  The lamp we got at Freds. The chairs on either side of this dresser are more yard sale finds that we painted and recovered with caves and French labels. The dresser is another yard sale find. We replaced most of the original knobs.

The throw pillow is from Kirkland’s.
