Setting Up An Outdoor Mother’s Day Brunch
How To Decorate For A Mother’s Day Brunch
Start with a table cloth, pick a color scheme and stick to it as you decorate. We started by covering the table with mismatched lace tablecloths, some of them were our grandmother’s and others we picked up at yard sales and estate sales. I love how it softens the outdoorsy garden feel and adds a touch of vintage to our Mother’s Day brunch.
Next, we pulled out these cheerful painted folding chairs around the table, I love the pop of color it adds to the table. You can use whatever you have on hand for your outdoor Mother’s Day brunch, if you feel like it you can add flowers or bows to the chairs to dress them up a little. On one end of the table, we used a chippy antique chair. I love how it looks with the lace tablecloths!
For a centerpiece, we used these two galvanized buckets filled with hot pink hydrangeas we picked up at Lowes. I aged the ones we used to give them a vintage look but you could skip that or even use something like a crock or white pots.
Over the table, we hung Chinese lanterns for more of a party feel, and a simple chandelier we made over to use outside.
To set the garden feel we used pretty floral plates and a pink tulip tea set for our mother’s day brunch, this gives the table a happy pop of color and helps to draw in some of the colors around the table. On top of the plates, we added fun peony napkin rings from Hobby Lobby for the perfect touch of color to our white napkins.
Above the table, we strung string lights around the trees to add a fun party feel. The warm lights give the air a soft and cozy glow. We did something similar for our garden party last year and it just added a magical feel to the party.
How To Set A Table For Mother’s Day Brunch
How you set the table for your Mother’s Day brunch is going to depend on how formal you go for. For this look we opted for very simple, a dinner plate, followed by a salad plate and napkin resting at an angle over the top. Want to go more formal? Check out this article we did on how to set a table!
Picking A Menu For A Mother’s Day Brunch
Picking the menu for a Mother’s Day brunch is one of my favorite parts. Every year we go with something different and try to out-do ourselves. We’ve tried everything from delicious quiches to yummy pasterys. Go with something you know your mom will like (or if you are hosting for a group of mom’s come up with a variety)
