A Thanksgiving centerpiece really will set the tone for the rest of the table, it should be eye catching but not encumber conversation or cause people to lean around it.

How To Create A Thanksgiving Centerpiece

When decorating a table for thanksgiving– or any large meal less decor is more. You are going to need room for plates, possibly food unless you have a buffet table and of course people.

Some things you should have on hand when creating thanksgiving decorations for a table are:

  • A table cloth
  • Place mats
  • Table runner
  • Candles
  • Pumpkins
  • Foliage
  • Chargers
  • Plates
  • Cutlery
  • Napkins
  • Napkin Rings

How Can I Decorate My Thanksgiving Table On A Budget?

You don’t have to have all of these but this is a good baseline for making a thanksgiving centerpiece. You can repurpose normal decor around your home in your centerpiece for thanksgiving, forage for fresh greenery and natural elements, or even check out some yard sales, estate sales, and antique stores for some unique pieces to incorporate in your decor.

Creating Farmhouse Style Thanksgiving Decorations

For this farmhouse style Thanksgiving centerpiece, we combined some natural colors and textures to create a beautiful and cozy yet very simple table. We used:

  • A Painters Cloth for a tablecloth
  • A suede green table runner
  • White napkins
  • Cotton garland
  • A Galvanized Cake Plate
  • Silver candlesticks
  • White bone china plates
  • Chicken wire napkin rings

We set this Thanksgiving table up outside but it could be set up inside (or anywhere else).

Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece

To create this farmhouse style Thanksgiving centerpiece we placed a cream painters canvas over the table as a tablecloth We found it at Lowes, it’s the perfect touch to give this Thanksgiving table that farmhouse feel. Over the top of that, we added a rich green table runner.

For our Thanksgiving table centerpiece, we twisted a strand of cotton garland around this adorable galvanized cake plate and topped it with a beautiful green pumpkin. This is just large enough to catch your eye, but not too big to block people’s views.

On either side of our Thanksgiving centerpiece, we placed antique silver candlesticks with white taper candles. To either end of our Thanksgiving table, we place these wonderful white pumpkins. We placed fall leaves here and there around the table. I love the crispy, crinkly look they have and it goes so well with the table decor.

Thanksgiving Tablesetting

For this Thanksgiving table we used old white bone china plates, these keep with our simple color scheme but add that touch of glamor to the table.  We used a fabric that we found as the table runner to add some beautiful color to the table. We kept with white cloth napkins, and homemade chicken wire daisy napkin rings.

Gorgeous Thanksgiving Table

To pull this Thanksgiving table look together we added gorgeous distressed antique chairs and fluffy white pillows. It brings together the whole farmhouse style.
