Ranch dressing was invented by a plumber in the 1970s and it was a huge hit with most everyone that tried it.  He ended up making the dry ingredients available for those that loved it and sold it in his local grocery store for all that wanted it.  It seems people could not get enough.

He and his wife ended up buying a ranch and they named it for that famous ranch that is found on the bottles of your favorite ranch salad dressing, and dip. Later they sold the ranch and the formula for the salad dressing to the Clorox company and the rest is history.

This is our version of his beloved salad dressing. This ranch dressing recipe is so delicious and does not contain the bad ingredients that you are trying to avoid in a healthy lifestyle.  There is no soy and no MSG or other additives.

What if I Don’t Know How To Make Mayonnaise For My Ranch Dressing?

It is easy to make and only takes a few minutes but you can use store-bought mayonnaise if you want to.

What If I Don’t Have Organic Ingredients For Ranch Dressing?

If you don’t have organic ingredients for the recipe, just use what you have.

What Is Nutritional Yeast?

Nutritional yeast is a savory yeast that comes from sugar cane and molasses. You can read more about the uses and health benefits of this yummy yeast from Dr. Axe below.  If you can’t find it or don’t want to use it you can omit the nutritional yeast in the recipe if you want to.

Do I Have To Use Buttermilk?

No, you do not have to use buttermilk for your dressing.  You can use regular milk but buttermilk really adds flavor to the Ranch dressing and so it will taste different without it.
