God Is My Strength When Life Is Overwhelming

Have you ever had that moment life is just overwhelming? You have way too many balls to juggle, the weight of it all drags you down until you feel like your drowning. Your strength fails as you flounder desperately trying to keep all the balls in the air. Meet all the needs. Do everything you’re supposed to do. Stop. Breath. Let go of the pressure, just breathe, it’s ok. It’s ok to admit you don’t have the strength, it doesn’t make you any less.

You were never meant to do this on your own when life is overwhelming, and when you feel like you can handle it- God wants to be your strength.

Pin for later!

God is my strength when life is overwhelming, it's ok not to be able to keep it all together. You were never meant to do this all alone, He wants to be your strength. He's ready and willing to carry you through the good days and the bad ones. #rosevinecottagegirls

God Is My Strength When Life Is Overwhelming

When life is overwhelming it’s easy to lose sight of God’s promises and find ourselves trying to limp along in our own power. Just trying to get it all done, trudging on and on in the same broken cycles until we find ourselves absolutely exhausted and with nothing left to give. Trust me I’ve been there, feeling so brittle I’ll fall apart with the next strong wind. But it isn’t meant to be like this, my friend. God is ready and willing to sweep in and be the strength you so desperately need, to take the burdens we’ve have been carrying and fight the battles for us but we have to let Him.

We have to stop trying to do it on our own and let Him be our strength, stop running ahead on our own and learn to wait for Him. It’s a choice every day to open the door and let God in, to wait for Him instead of running ahead on our own trying to handle life on our own.

Trusting God When Life Is Hard

Trusting God is important every day of our lives, but it’s in the face of the storm when life is overwhelming that we must cling all the tighter to that trust. Even when we don’t understand, even when the storm is ragging, even when we are hurting and everything in us screams for answers, and doubt wonders if God has suddenly changed.

God doesn’t change in the storm, but through the lens of pain, of unanswered questions, and heartache it can feel like that. When life is overwhelming we can feel as if God is far away and doesn’t care. Like He’s abandoned us to muddle through and make the best of it. But we have to remember that our feelings aren’t always right and remind ourselves that even in the storm God is good and in control.

Bible Verses For When Life Is Overwhelming

Here some of my favorite verses for when life is overwhelming to remind me of God’s strength and faithfulness:

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31

“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and mountains quake and with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” Psalm 34:17-19

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

God Is My Strength In The Storm

When life is overwhelming, when you are going through a storm He will see you through! He will not abandon you in this season, you will not be lost in the waves. You are not alone, tuck back into Him and let God fight this battle for you. Be still and trust God in this place. He saw this storm before it was ever on your radar, this place is no surprise to Him. He’s already set in place the provision you’ll need to get you through this season. You are His precious child, that He died to save. Let Him be your strength in this season.

It’s vital that God is my strength to become more than a cliche phrase in our lives, but a tangible thing to see us through when life is overwhelming. God doesn’t want to be an observer in your life, move over and let Him be the strength you so desperately need.

When Life Is Overwhelming He Is Still God

When our lives are overwhelming He is still God. No amount of chaos can change that. No storm can shake Him from His throne. He is God over the storm and speaks peace into the very heart of the chaos that surrounds you. No matter how out of control it seems, how mighty the storm and dark the night He is God, unchanging and unmoving. Nothing is too big for him to handle.

Life can be so overwhelming but rest in the knowledge that God is your strength and will see you through whatever storm you face.
