Thick Crust Pizza Dough Recipe
Ingredients:
Instructions:
If you are using a bread machine add wet ingredients to the bottom of the pan then add flour. In separate corners add yeast, salt, sugar, and dry milk. Turn the bread machine on the dough and press “start”. Leave it alone until It beeps and turns off. Then pull it out sit it in an oiled bowl with oiled cling wrap over the top and let rise again until you are ready to use it.
If you don’t have a bread machine get a big bowl and pour the milk into it. Follow with dry ingredients. Mix until elastic and then cover with oiled cling wrap to rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven and your pizza stone if you have one to 425 F (220c.). This is also amazing cooked in a large cast-iron pan. Pre-heat this pan too.
Roll out to the desired size on a counter with a bit of cornmeal and a sprinkle of salt.
Take your dough and sprinkle a little bit of cornmeal on top and fold it in half. Sprinkle a little more and fold in half again. Remove your preheated pan and place the folded dough inside the pan and then unfold to make a circle. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 7-10 minutes, remove it from the oven and then add a small amount of sauce and whatever you want on top, and bake until cheese is melted (about six minutes or so)

We hope you like this delicious pizza crust. Feel free to look through our recipes for other ideas. You can use whatever topping that you like the best. Pepperoni, sausage, salami, ground beef, bell peppers, onions, olives, cheeses, jalapenos, whatever makes your heart sing!
This is good with a red tomato-based sauce, with a delicious pesto sauce, an alfredo sauce, or even with just a bit of good olive oil and sprinkled with garlic powder, Italian herbs, and salt and pepper.
Oh, and when you are pre-baking the crust, the 10 minutes will make a crust soft on the top and with a crunch on the bottom. If you like it softer then just take it out a bit sooner.
Note:
The cornmeal under the crust with a touch of salt will help your thick crust pizza dough not to stick but it also give it a great flavor on the bottom. Almost like a parmesan cheese taste the kids say.
Enjoy everyone! We hope you like it.
