This year I will give myself the gift of grace. Grace for when I’m running behind, when I’m tired of the endless beat of my feet on the pavement in the endless race of life. I’ll give myself grace when I mess up, when I’m beat and life hurts. I’ll give myself grace when I stumble muddy, tired, with the weight of the world on my back. Because the truth is I am my own worst critic, I can chew myself up over the slightest failing better than anyone else because I know the words that can hurt me the worst.

Giving Ourselves The Gift Of Grace
The truth is you and I, we deserve grace too. We find it easy to give it to everyone else, but when it comes to ourselves. We speak to ourselves in ways we’d never talk to anyone else. We belittle and pick apart everything about us instead of seeing ourselves through God’s eyes. He’s already given us grace- unearned, undeserved, unmerited- why can’t we do the same?
Give yourself grace, try to see yourself not through your eyes but the heavenly father who created you with careful thought. You are His creation, handcrafted and placed where your standing for a purpose.
Accepting The Gift Of Grace
Be the kind of woman who spends her days not worrying about the future, not worrying if she’ll succeed or fail because all that matters is you tried. That you got up each morning and gave it your best. That you did all you could and left the rest in God’s hands. It doesn’t matter what does or doesn’t happen this week, this month, this year… it doesn’t matter, not any of it. God’s still going to use us, even if we don’t get everything checked off our to-do lists. Nothing can change His plan for us. So give yourself grace. Grace to breathe, to step back when you need to and step into His waiting arms.
…“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”… 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
God’s Strength Is Made Perfect In Our Weakness
You see there is beauty in our weakness, because in the middle of my mess He is writing His story. In my stumbles, His fingerprints shine the brightest. I am His creation, His child that He adores. His grace meets us right where we are, in the midst of our personal mess and washes over it. We may not feel like we are enough for this role we are filling, but with the Lord’s grace, we will be.
