Pain Perdu Recipe

  • Cream Cheese
  • Jam or Jelly of your choice
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Splash of cream
  • 10 drops liquid stevia



  • Heat a medium size pan over medium heat, beat eggs in a plate or bowl big enough to dip the bread into, add the cream, and stevia beat until combined.
  • Once the pan is hot dip bread into the egg mixture and place it into the pan. Cook until golden on both sides.
  • When done spread cream cheese over one piece of pain perdu, top that lightly with jam or jelly, and place the second piece of pain perdu on top. Swipe a bit more cream cheese on top and a dab of jam. Or skip the jam on top and drizzle a bit of wild violet syrup on top.
